Simulation

Simulation is a fundamental tool in Flight Mechanics Area, since it allows us to test, improve, and refine every hardware and software modification  we introduce into SICANT. It is also useful to compare real flight data with aircraft theoretical models, which allows us to have a deeper knowledge in flight dynamics for every specific aircraft. In this way, we can refine these theoretical models making them closer to reality. 

Simulation in Flight Mechanics Area has three main focuses:

  • SWIL simulator is the first step in testing. It consists in a simulation only with software elements.
  • HWIL simulator can be considered as the next step in the process, since it includes also hardware elements in order to simulate the aircraft, altogether with its sensors and actuators behaviour.
  • In flight simulator and in section 3D and VR presentation, we group previous concepts altogether with presentation and data displaying in a more user friendly manner. This has been proved useful for training and educational proposes.
