Activities and Programs

Flight Mechanics Area has pursued and developed a great number of activities and collaborations during its service years. While our contribution in INTA's RPAS programs is nowadays one of out most remarkable achievements, Area's research lines has been fruitful and varied for more than 20 years. Some of the results of out work can be summarized in the next list:

  • Patent nº 2245245: 'Method and arrangement of mission management of an unmanned aerial vehicle' (2004)
  • Patent nº 2304815: 'Method of controlling input parameters of a control system of an aerial vehicle' (2005)
  • Patent nº 2238936: 'Sensor fusion system and method for estimating position, velocity and orientation of a vehicle,in particular an aircraft' (2004)
  • PMGCS: Dynamic library which allows planned missions validation from performance and control system perspective.
  • SICANT's technological transfer to EADS-CASA in the ATLANTE control system development collaboration agreement (2010)
  • Collaborations with Spanish Army since 2011 with SIVA platform, continued with ALO platform. Simulator installed at 'Conde de Gazola' base.
  • ALO demonstration flights at Villamartín (Cádiz) for the I International Convention in research, development and education on Uncrewed Aerial Systems (RED UAS-2011)
  • ALO demonstration flights at Marugán for UNVEX 12 (April, 2012)
  • Participation in UME's GAMMA 2013 exercise (Fuentemilanos, Segovia)
  • Universidad de León equipment installation for laser radiometer data acquisition (2014)
  • Collaboration with Spanish Air Force at Matacán base, for DUO's teaching, being SIVA the selected system for practical training.
  • SAIDENT program, which objective was to adapt the RPAS to adverse atmospheric conditions operation, and the stabilization and payload control with pointing enhancement.
  • DEMORPAS program, to evaluate operations integration for uncrewed and crewed aircraft in air traffic controlled airspace.
  • Flight demonstration at UNVEX 2018 in 'Conde de Gazola" base, at Ferral de Bernesga.
  • Participation in GALICIAN SKYWAY program, being needed additional modifications and new functionalities in SICANT, such as flight replanning.
  • Participation in HERMES program, in order to integrate a rocket launcher CAT70 to SIVA.
  • Participation in UE's LABYRINTH program, for high density U-space management.
