HW Architecture

SICANT's hardware architecture has been evolving since Flight Mechanics Area's first autopilots versions and control systems, up until the current design. Nowadays three different main hardware components can be found in SICANT:

  1. Measurement input: composed of sensors, altogether with flight variables and data acquisition systems.
  2. On Board computers: composed of (Módulo de Estimación y Control meaning Estimation and Control Module) and the MTT (Módulo de Telecomando y Telemedida meaning Telecommand and Telemetry module)
  3. Command output: composed of actuators which enable aircraft flight control .

SICANT hardware is also composed of several auxiliary operation subsystems, such as the elements dedicated to ground control station and payload communication. SICANT controls and coordinates all of them depending on the mission and operative conditions surrounding the aircraft.
