Testing Stations

By test stations we mean the modifications of a ground control station in order to develop and execute new RPAS test flights. Each test can be very different from the previous ones, and may require ground control software adaptations in order to, for example, retrieve new flight data, offering information about the functionalities tested, or even new capabilites performance metrics.
During all these years, some of the next functionalities have been adapted and modified:

  • Map presentation of glide path and emergency parachute drop zone
  • Gain adjusting in real time, both in flight and taxi phases.
  • Geofencing activation posibility by operator order, with automatic maneuvering generation.
  • Manual piloting assited through buttons, knobs, or joystick (virtual or real).
  • UAV telemetry and telecommand recording.
  • Planning, routing and mission validation both in preflight and real-time.
  • Flight debriefing.
  • Theoretical trajectory map presentation.
  • Safety and no-go zones checking.
  • Real time configurable communication channels (network or serial comm)
  • Optical payload control and pointing.

Each new test suposes a new challenge which has to be faced strictly; being able to adapt to new situations is both the objective for us and for our flight control.
