PRS security violations can occur as a result of an act that is contrary to and/or violates (intentionally or unintentionally) applicable security rules (i.e., national laws, PRS decisions, common minimum standards). Examples of security violations may include, for example:

  • Handling of PRS documents not in accordance with their classification level.
  • Failure to implement COMSEC instructions when handling COMSEC items.
  • Abnormal behavior of a CIS (e.g., the effect of a virus or other cyberattack).
  • Sharing of PRS information with unauthorized third parties.
  • Use of the PRS not in accordance with established CONOPS.
  • PRS items (e.g., a PRS receiver) are lost or fall under the control of unauthorized users (e.g., malicious users, hackers, etc.).
  • Etc...

As a result of a security breach, information is considered compromised when all or part of such classified information is disclosed to unauthorized persons (e.g., unauthorized users, third countries, etc.).

In both cases (non-compliance and commitment), the user must inform the CPA without delay, sending the corresponding form and the additional documentation detailed therein, to the CPA following the established procedure according to the level of classification of the information:

  • Security Incident Notification Form
  • COMSEC Incident Notification Form
  • RF Interference Notification Form
  • Anomaly Notification Form
