Since last 5th February 2020, Captain Nicolás Lapique Martín, Spanish Navy Engineers Corps, is the new Deputy Director General of Naval Systems of INTA
Until now, he was the Head of Naval Systems in the Deputy General Directorate for Programs Management of the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defense.
He entered in the Naval Academy, as Line Officer in 1982, and he served on board the 'Baleares' Frigate, 'Villa de Bilbao' Patrol Boat and 'Príncipe de Asturias' Aircraft Carrier.
In 1997, he finished his career as naval architect, joining the Engineers Corps, when he served as inspector of the LPD, F100 and LHD Programmes, Quality Assurance Representative of LHD and F105 Programmes and Head of the Platform Branch at Ferrol Arsenal. In 2013 he joined the Navy's S-80 Programme Office and, in 2017, already in the DGAM, he was appointed S-80 Programme Manager and, later, Head of Naval Systems.
In his new position, he will direct the activity of the El Pardo Campus of INTA.
