Equipment and System Tests Department

With over 50 years of experience in system, subsystem and equipment testing, the Equipment and System Tests Department has facilities and highly qualified personnel which enable it to carry out the complete qualification of systems, equipment, parts and components, both electrical and/or electronic and structural, in the aerospace, military and civil sectors, including the following disciplines:

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing.
  • Environmental testing (mechanical and climatic).
  • Electrical and radio frequency power testing.
  • Radio frequency testing and electromagnetic simulation.
  • Photogrammetry testing.
  • Photovoltaic solar energy on solar cells.

It also has extensive experience and participation in activities such as:

  • Research into new measurement techniques.
  • Collaboration in standardization activities in the space, military and civil sectors.
  • Participation in technology development programs in our fields of application.

All facilities comply with the requirements established by the international standard ISO 17025 for testing and calibration laboratories, some of which are accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity).

Numerous testing campaigns have been carried out at these facilities, mainly (though not exclusively) on military and aerospace equipment.

In the space sector, the following are noteworthy:

  • SEOSAT (QM and FM models of the main payload).
  • DEIMOS 2 (SM and FM models).
  • VEGA and VEGA C (last stage).
  • LEA H2020 “Large European Deployable Antenna” and LEOB.
  • SPAINSAT antenna.
  • PLATO Program (QM, 8 FM and 2 FS models).
  • Instruments and auxiliary systems for space missions, including Bepicolombo, Exomars, Proba and satellite units such as HISPASAT, AMAZONAS, SES, etc.
