1942 Foundation of INTA (National Institute of Aeronautical Technique).

1960 First cooperation agreement with NASA. Mercury Missions.

 

1963 New name: National Institute of Aerospace Technology «Esteban Terradas».

 

1974 INTASAT, First Spanish satellite. Launched into space by NASA.

 

1977 Creation of de Ministry of Defense.

 

1986 Fist Law of Science: INTA becomes OPI (Public Research Agency)

 

1991 Inauguration of the LAEFF (Laboratory of Space Astrophysics and Fundamental Physics, INTA - CESIC - University).

 

1992 HISPASAT, Spanish satellite communications program.

 

 

 

 

1997 MINISAT 1, the first satellite launched into space from Spain (Canary Islands).

 

 

 

2003 Inauguration of the Center for Astrobiology, CAB (INTA - CSIC).
